As you may know, our local Club is gearing up to transform the former Video 4 Theater at 1005 El Paseo Rd. into a new, 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility to better serve our community’s youth. Included in the plan is the build-out of a new gymnasium. Lou & Mary Henson have been long-time supporters of Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces. There’s no better way to recognize their generosity and honor their legacy than to name our court for them.
When Mary first learned of plans for the new building, the Henson family generously donated a seed gift of $100,000 to use as a matching challenge to launch the capital campaign. Now, we are calling on our supporters to help us match this $100,000 with a gift to support the costs associated with the installation of the professional-grade basketball court. To help reach our goal, the Lou & Mary Henson Court Giving Circle has been established to give donors the opportunity to invest in the project while honoring the Henson’s legacy.
"Coach Lou and Mary Henson are such beloved figures in our community, and their generosity has truly inspired us. They have made a difference and truly empowered the Club by giving us a head start in helping us build a brighter future for our youth."
